
SOL BREWED WITH SOLAR ENERGY
The sun has always been the heart and soul of Sol and now we’re also able to harness it’s power. Following the installation of 9,212 solar panels on the roof of Zoeterwoude brewery in the Netherlands, solar power plays an important role in the production process of Sol. This is a significant milestone in our journey to reducing carbon emissions and becoming more sustainable.
From 2020 onwards, Sol Brewed with Solar Energy from Zoeterwoude brewery in the Netherlands will be supplied to 50 countries*, including UK, Australia, Germany, Spain and Netherlands.
The electricity used within the brewing and packaging process is coming from solar energy - providing 60% of the energy for the brewing process and 40% for the packaging process. In addition to solar energy, we also use thermal energy to heat up the beer during the brewing and packaging process.
